Mascot Dolls by Jean Greenhowe
Jean Greenhowe has been designing and publishing her distinctive patterns for many years. Her beautifully detailed dolls and toys all look so much more complicated than they are - if you can knit, purl, increase and decrease you can make her designs.
All toys are made using standard DK yarn, with some requiring small amounts of a number of shades, so they an excellent way to use up the oddments that every knitter has tucked away. Or why not try our own award winning Deramores Studio DK or Deramores Baby DK.
Each of the 10 Mascot Dolls also has instructions for a charming knitted display stand and accessories. All of the dolls are approximately 24cm (9½in) tall, and care has been taken to make all of the uniforms as accurate as possible (including Santa’s!).
The Brownie and Guide are warming themselves by a knitted camp fire, and Santa’s chimney stack has a covering of snow.
The Nurse has a vase of flowers, get-well card and a fluffy towel, the Fireman has a fire hose and puddle of water, and the old fashioned Policeman stands beside a vintage lamp post.
The Footballer can be knitted in your team colours, and the graceful Ballerina with her floral tribute is exquisitely detailed. And the Lifeboatman and Sailor add a final nautical touch.
