My knitting journey started when I was only 5 years old when a family member taught me how to knit. Originating from the north east of Scotland, knitting is a way of life for many people so it was natural that I really took took to it.
When I was 18, I was lucky to get the opportunity to work for a small knitwear company where I specialised in machine knit fair isle and I got the opportunity to knit a jumper for a member of the British royal family.
Whilst I worked there, I realised that knitting was what I wanted to do as my career. In 2012, I finally started my own business and despite having a life changing accident that summer, I went on to win a business award. I taught myself how to knit fair isle by hand and this is now my favourite style of knitting.
Working with yarn is my biggest passion – working with colour, texture, shape and form is so exciting. And knitting is the most wonderful form of mindfulness and brain training too! I currently live in London which offers a great wealth of inspiration for design and colour.
